Faith Formation for Every Adult in the Congregation with John Roberto, Public Event, Thursday, April 27th at 7:00pm

johnrobertoIt's possible today to provide vibrant faith formation for all adults, €”young adults, midlife adults, mature adults, and older adults in a congregation. The abundance of high quality digital media for adults, and the new online and digital tools and technologies makes it possible to develop adult faith formation that engages every adult around their interests, concerns, questions, and spiritual and faith journeys.

Faith formation legend John Roberto will share with us his insights and experiences in families at the center approach to faith formation. This will include emphasis on nurturing the faith growth of young people, building a strong family life together and equipping parents and grandparents as faith creators and nurturers. This is a wonderful opportunity for our church family to grow in faith and support our children as they form their faith in the years to come.

John Roberto is President of LifelongFaith Associates and works as a consultant to churches and national organizations, teaches courses and conducts workshops in faith formation, and has authored books and program manuals in faith formation. His latest publications include Families at the Center of Faith Formation (editor and co-author, 2016), Seasons of Adult Faith Formation (editor and co-author, 2015), and Reimagining Faith Formation for the 21st Century (2015).

Church Ministries and Activities Directory (2016)

When you come to Upper Dublin Lutheran, you are encouraged strongly to ‘chose a ministry area’ or participate in a fellowship group, or a book study group so that you connect to other people. Studies say that if you don’t know 7 new people in the first 6 months in a congregation, you’ll begin to fade away and not feel invested! We don’t want that to happen.

Holy Humor Sunday: The Blues Brothers April 23rd 2017

Holy Humor Sunday is an annual tradition at UDLC. On the Sunday after Easter, the pastors and staff sing, dance, and don constume in side splitting comedic ressurection tales with lots of laughter and music. The theme for 2017 is The Blues Brothers "On a Mission From God" at all three services on April 23rd.

Sunday School Overview

At Upper Dublin Lutheran Church, we focus on being God's dearly beloved children – that is our identity! We celebrate the wonderful and unique gifs God has given to each of us and discover how we can use our gifts to share God's love – in our homes, schools, church, community, and world. We celebrate being a part of God's family all over the world as we learn, play, share, and grow together in our relationship to our loving God and to His people!

Sunday Morning Worship at 7:45, 9:00, and 10:30am

We worship at 7:45, 9:00, and 10:30 on Sunday morning. All of our worship services offer opportunities to experience the leadership of many Christians. Time for sharing by worshipers of where God has been active in their lives or prayer concerns. Time to gather after the service for refreshment. Worship resources that are easy to follow. A nursery staffed by a qualified adult for children up to age 3, which you are welcome to use, but children are very welcome in worship.

Catechetics

The Catechetics Faith Journey is a two year faith journey for 8th & 9th grades students.  Seventh grade students whose parents feel are ready to begin this faith journey are also most welcome. Seventh grade students are expected to attend weekly Sunday School classes to complete their two year study of the Old and New Testament.

Visiting for the First Time? Here's What to Expect on Sunday Morning

We joke that they are like the story of the three bears. You can try them out and find the one that feels "just right" to you. You can read about them in more detail here. Here's a helpful list of what you can expect to experience when you visit on Sunday morning from when you pull into the parking lot, getting around the church, following along in worship, and the all-important coffee bar.

Our Partnerships with Cathedral Church, Lushoto, Tanzania and SEKUCo

In 2005, we began an amazing relationship with our Lutheran brothers and sisters in Tanzania's Northeastern Diocese. This summer we will make our fourth trip to visit their evangelism outposts in the mountains of Lushoto, and developed a scholarship program for high school students. Tanzanian hospitality, generosity and contagious Christian music draws us back and feeds our faith!
